Dear PRESMA* partners,
We are happy to share some updates about our project along with our plans for this season and beyond. In addition, we are looking for your help as we try to connect with farmworkers who have used your services to navigate a complex or difficult issue. While we have spoken to more than 100 farmworkers, many of these workers have had limited interactions with service providers. We want to learn more about how farmworkers make use of services such as yours. We hope that you can help us improve our data set by facilitating these connections.
We welcome your feedback, comments, and questions on the summary of our findings thus far. And as always, we thank you for your ongoing partnership!
*PRESMA stands for Partnered Research Examining Services with Migrants in AgricultureEmerging Findings
1. Emerging Findings
We have continued to work on our analysis, focusing on interviews carried out since last year. In total, we have interviewed 109 participants about services and supports available to them.

We have developed visual summaries of our findings to share with participants and other migrant farmworkers in our three regions of focus (see attached and sample below). Key priorities for participants included access to health care, working conditions, knowing/accessing legal rights and general recognition for their contributions. In addition, participants want to know about and access their benefits, feel less isolated and separate from their families, and experience more dignified housing, freedom and protections.

2. Outreach to Migrant Workers
A dedicated outreach team has been working to gather feedback and further dialogue with participants (see part 2 of poster below & attached). In the next few weeks, we will include a draw-string bag with snacks to distribute with flyers summarizing our findings. By attending key events and ongoing relationship-building, staff have already consulted with over 80 workers.

3. Next steps for Data Collection & Finalizing Analysis
While we have been able to document a lot of priorities and concerns, most workers we have interviewed report limited exposure and experience navigating services and supports. Moving forward, we would like to focus on learning more from participants who have made use of certain services and supports. This will complement our dataset by helping us learn more about how services offered are directly experienced by participants.
To get to this step, we need your help. We are looking for migrant agricultural workers who have used your services, especially for a complex, serious or long-term issue.
We are not looking to cast a wide net for participants as we have already heard from a lot of participants, most of whom have had limited experiences with services and support.
Do you have questions?
Concerns?
Feedback?
Would you like to lend your support in a specific way?
We’d love to hear from you!
